I had the morning free and it coincided with low water. I arrived at 0930, no-one on the water but a few rigging. I rigged my 5.3m as it looked pretty windy. I used my Carve 111 as the wind was onshore and it was lowtide so I should never be far out of my depth. Had a long walk to the water but once out it was relatively flat, had some good runs and attempted a gybe at the end of each one but didnt manage one gybe without getting wet. As the tide came in in got wavier, the board was taking off at times over waves, I need to read up on how to stop the board getting air over the waves. Still it was fun wiggling about on the waves on the way back in. I stopped at 1130 as needed to head off and I was knackered from all that swimming.
It was a good session, although next time it is that windy from that direction I think I should head for the lake instead. Low tide is good though and I will try and get there more at lowtide, especially in a SW'ly where it will be flat and shallow. I was carving into gybes fine but when dead downwind the nose of the board was up in the air and it got wobbly, I need more mast foot pressure at that point I think.
